Übung 1: Present Perfect vs. Past Simple

Setze das Verb in Klammern in die korrekte Zeitform ein: Present Perfect oder Past Simple

  1. I (visit) my grandparents last weekend.
  2. She (not see) that movie yet.
  3. They (already eat) breakfast this morning.
  4. He (just finish) his homework.
  5. We (not go) to the beach last summer.

Lösung:

  1. I visited my grandparents last weekend. (Past Simple)
  2. She hasn’t seen that movie yet. (Present Perfect)
  3. They have already eaten breakfast this morning. (Present Perfect)
  4. He has just finished his homework. (Present Perfect)
  5. We didn’t go to the beach last summer. (Past Simple)

Übung 2: Present Continuous vs. Present Simple

Setze das Verb in Klammern in die korrekte Zeitform ein: Present Continuous oder Present Simple

  1. I (read) a book right now.
  2. They (not play) basketball every day.
  3. She (watch) TV at the moment.
  4. He (usually do) his homework in the afternoon.
  5. We (not study) for the test at the moment.

Lösung:

  1. I am reading a book right now. (Present Continuous)
  2. They don’t play basketball every day. (Present Simple)
  3. She is watching TV at the moment. (Present Continuous)
  4. He usually does his homework in the afternoon. (Present Simple)
  5. We are not studying for the test at the moment. (Present Continuous)

Übung 3: Mixed Tenses

Setze das Verb in Klammern in die korrekte Zeitform ein: Present Simple, Present Continuous, Past Simple, Present Perfect oder Future Simple

  1. I (not see) that movie yet, but I (plan) to watch it next week.
  2. She (study) English for two years, and she (improve) a lot.
  3. They (not be) to New York before, but they (go) there next month.
  4. He (usually walk) to work, but today he (take) the bus.
  5. We (already book) our tickets for the concert, and we (look forward) to it.

Lösung:

  1. I haven’t seen that movie yet, but I plan to watch it next week. (Present Perfect, Future Simple)
  2. She has been studying English for two years, and she has improved a lot. (Present Perfect, Present Continuous)
  3. They haven’t been to New York before, but they are going there next month. (Present Perfect, Future Simple)
  4. He usually walks to work, but today he is taking the bus. (Present Simple, Present Continuous)
  5. We have already booked our tickets for the concert, and we are looking forward to it. (Present Perfect, Present Continuous)

Übung 1: Setze die richtige Form des Verbs ein

In dieser Übung musst du die richtige Form des Verbs in die Lücken einsetzen. Beachte dabei die Zeitformen und die Signalwörter, die dir helfen, die richtige Form zu finden.

Beispiel:

Yesterday, I (to meet) my friend. –> Yesterday, I met my friend.

  1. She (to study) for her exam right now.
  2. They (to play) football every Saturday.
  3. He (to drink) a cup of coffee every morning.
  4. She (to be) in London last week.
  5. They (to watch) a movie last night.

Übung 2: Bildung von Sätzen

In dieser Übung musst du Sätze in den Mixed Tenses bilden. Achte dabei auf die korrekte Bildung und Reihenfolge der Satzteile.

Beispiel:

He / to study / at the moment. –> He is studying at the moment.

  1. They / to watch / TV / yesterday evening.
  2. She / to be / in Paris / last summer.
  3. We / to have / lunch / at the moment.
  4. I / to visit / my grandparents / last weekend.
  5. He / to play / basketball / every Tuesday.

Übung 3: Lückentext

In dieser Übung musst du die richtige Form des Verbs in die Lücken einsetzen. Es handelt sich um einen längeren Text, in dem verschiedene Zeitformen vorkommen.

My name is Lisa and I (to live) in Berlin. I (to learn) English at school and I (to really enjoy) it. Last weekend, I (to visit) my grandparents who (to live) in Hamburg. We (to have) a great time together and I (to learn) a lot from them. They (to travel) all around the world and they (to tell) me many interesting stories. Yesterday, I (to meet) my friend Sarah who (to be) in London last year. She (to show) me some pictures and (to tell) me about her experiences. I (to be) very impressed and (to decide) to visit London next year.

Past Progressive Handlungen, die in der Vergangenheit stattgefunden haben und noch andauerten I was playing football when it started to rain.
Present Perfect abgeschlossene Handlungen in der Vergangenheit mit Bezug zur Gegenwart I have played football many times.
Past Perfect abgeschlossene Handlungen in der Vergangenheit vor einer anderen Handlung in der Vergangenheit I had played football before I went home.
